American director M. Night Shyamalan will be the head of the jury for the Berlinale-2022
American director and screenwriter M. Night Shyamalan will head the jury of the 72nd Berlin Film Festival, the press service of the show reports.
The Berlin Film Festival 2022 will take place from 10 to 20 February.
“The successful expatriate filmmaker from South Asia has captivated audiences with his genre films for three decades,” the organizers said in a communiqué.
Shyamalan, a native of India, directed such films as “The Sixth Sense” with Bruce Willis, “Signs” with Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix, “Split” and several others.
His most successful film, The Sixth Sense (1999), was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Screenplay and Directing. In 2011, Shyamalan was awarded the “Golden Raspberry” as the worst director and screenwriter for the fantasy film “The Lord of the Elements”.
