Brazil defender Dani Alves to return to Barcelona
Barcelona have agreed to sign a contract with Brazilian defender Dani Alves before the end of this season, according to the Spanish football club’s website.
Alves in September left the Brazilian “Sao Paulo” and was in the status of a free agent. The 38-year-old will join Barcelona next week but will only be able to play for the team in January when the transfer window opens.
Alves played for Barcelona from 2008 to 2016. As part of the club, he became the six-time champion of Spain, four-time winner of the Cup and Super Cup of the country, as well as a three-time winner of the Champions League Cup. Alves also played for the Spanish “Sevilla”, Turin “Juventus”, French “Paris Saint-Germain” and other teams. For the Brazilian national team, the defender played 119 matches and scored eight goals.
